Our Consultants are trained in relationship management in the communications space: creative, media, digital, and PR. They have the listening skills, the coaching skills, and psychological insight into human relationships required to help navigate client issues in the findings. Having worked in agencies, CRC Consultants also understand how agencies work, the increasing lack of time or space for thought, and the pressure for forward momentum. Think of them as outsiders with insider knowledge, holding a mirror up to the agency and encouraging the teams to confront their issues, but most importantly work out how to effectively resolve them.

RELATIONSHIP CONSULTANT, EMEA

Anna Hopwood

Anna is not only our Head Of EMEA, she is also a Relationship Consultant. She spent over 20 years of her working life in advertising agencies, most recently at adam&eveDDB running client business from highly creative boutique clients to global business. She spent time as a Strategy Director, has led account management departments (agency and group level) and headed up New Business. Her agency experience fueled her desire to help agencies more effectively manage their client relationships for better work, margin and morale in what is an increasingly challenging climate. Anna oversees our consultancy offering.

Jeff Trachsel

Jeff joined CRC as a Consultant in 2018 after 20 years in various Marketing roles on both the agency and client side. Drawing on his experience as CMO at a growth stage technology company, Jeff brings a distinct client perspective to his role at CRC, where he manages a mix of global and local agency relationships. A strategic thinker and problem-solver, Jeff is passionate about helping agencies improve their client relationships.

Emma Kelly

Prior to joining CRC Emma spent over 15 years working within independent and networked integrated agencies leading global client accounts and business development. For the past 5 years at CRC Emma has supported a range of different agencies, including a deep expertise with Global Media networks.  Passionate about empowering agencies to level the playing field with clients, she has also lead the development of Barometer; leveraging insight on the agency experience to help agencies drive more equivalency and shared responsibility for the relationship with their clients.

RELATIONSHIP CONSULTANT, US

Erin Byrne

Prior to joining CRC, Erin spent 15 years in advertising with roles in Media at Arnold, MPG, and Havas Media across multiple client sectors. She joined CRC in 2014 as a CRC Consultant, works across all agency types, and is geographically focused on the US and Canada. She has a broad range of experience working with local and global agencies, along with bespoke and integrated agency teams. Erin works closely with her agency partners to diagnose expectation gaps, bring awareness to risk, and drive effective action in an effort to make positive shifts in the relationship.

RELATIONSHIP CONSULTANT, AUNZ

James Ledger

James joined CRC in 2015, inspired by the opportunity to help the AUNZ agencies understand and strengthen their client relationships in order to make their businesses more secure.   

He has a particular interest in supporting client leads and account teams, helping them learn from the mistakes he made over a 25 year career in advertising and media agencies, both in Australia and in the UK. More appropriately, he draws upon the fields of psychology, psychotherapy and couples counseling to provide the kind of counsel he wish he’d had in agency life.

Majja Dennis

Prior to joining CRC Majja spent 25 years working on the agency side in roles ranging from Chief Client Officer to Managing Director to Head of Talent and Operations. She brings a deep understanding of the needs of talent and the needs of clients to her Consultant role—an understanding that when those needs aren’t clearly communicated or understood relationships can falter. And a belief that when those needs are aligned and answered business flourishes.

Charlie Walt

Charlie joined CRC in 2011 after holding global client roles in the UK. She was inspired by the opportunity to help LATAM agencies strengthen their client relationships in order to make their businesses more secure and established CRC’s LATAM operation in Mexico City in 2016. She uses her experience of the different market idiosyncrasies to inform our approach with our agency clients in the region. As a coach, Charlie empowers agencies to better understand and grow their relationships. Charlie is also a key lead in developing our coaching approach and consultancy offering.

DACH

Boris Zolyniak

Boris joined CRC in 2011 and is one of the longest standing consultants. Prior to this he spent 18 years in the advertising business leading national, regional and global client agency relationships. He also worked client side as CMO. Boris is responsible in overseeing and supporting our clients in the German speaking countries, the Nordics and Eastern Europe.

Claire Robertson

Claire has nearly 20 years experience in the communications industry, and has been a consultant at The Client Relationship Consultancy since 2017. Her background is creative agencies, spiced up by some time on the other side of the fence at Procter & Gamble. Her last agency role was at DDB; having spent many years there in client service, she became Talent Director for the agency, helping the organization to achieve its ambitions through the development of its talent.

Emma Hillary

Emma has 17 years career experience in agencies and consultancies across the globe from London to Australia and Asia.  Emma joined CRC nearly 4 years ago, after a stint consulting on coaching products for a corporate wellbeing company.  Emma partners across all sectors of agencies, consulting in the UK market for some of our global network partners.  Emma has spearheaded development of our workshop products, other NPD and works in partnership with the business development team on expanding our consulting footprint.

Alice Campbell

With close to 20 years of agency experience in Business Development at Hill Holliday, Havas Media, Arnold, and Publicis Media, Alice joined CRC in 2018. Alice has designed various workshops for her agencies across the globe that support and guide teams to help them navigate changes and reset as needed to create satisfying and sustainable relationships. She encourages her agencies to focus on mindset shifts to build resiliency. She works with individuals to analyze changes in their client and internal agency relationships to surface changes in expectations so they can be addressed directly to better set up for success in the future.

Julian Broadhead

Julian joined CRC in 2021, after sixteen years at start-ups and integrated creative agencies. Most recently he was a Partner at BBH London, acting as a Business Lead and Co-Head of Account Management.

In an increasingly difficult industry environment, Julian is passionate about helping agencies proactively lead their client relationships to help get to better outcomes. In particular, he’s interested in positively managing client’s impact on agency team morale, motivation and retention.

Geraldine Kenway

Geraldine joined CRC as a Consultant in 2017 after more than 20 years of client service experience in integrated agencies. Her account leadership background on large global brands and first-hand experience of the challenges facing agencies today has fuelled her interest in supporting agency leadership teams to identify opportunity and risk and take more of a strategic approach to the way they manage and build strong relationships with their clients. Geraldine leads one of our major global network clients as well as consulting in several European markets, including all our media, creative and digital agency partners in Italy.

RELATIONSHIP CONSULTANT, FRANCE

Laurence Armangau

Laurence started out her career as a journalist, spending 12 years analysing and commenting on brand marketing and creative strategies for weekly magazine CB News ( leading French corporate press title) and BFM (business radio). She then spent the next 12 years leading the marketing and communication departments of major international advertising networks. Just before joining CRC, Laurence spent 3 years in 2 advertising schools, working closely with the next generation of communicators. Since January 2023 she is responsible in overseeing and supporting our clients in France.
